Write for us
We welcome original pitches that help readers see how comedy works or what it reveals. Send proposals through the Contact page; a clear angle and a specific example are more useful than a broad claim that comedy matters.
What makes a strong pitch
Start with one focused question about a comic character, form, device or work. Explain the central idea, why it suits Genuine Comedy Review and what the reader will understand by the end. Name the examples you would use and note any context or sources the piece would rely on.
A good fit
We look for precise, readable analysis that treats its subject fairly and makes its reasoning visible. Proposals might examine how a parody transforms its model, why a comic misunderstanding gathers force, or what a character's contradictions let a story say. Avoid pitches that depend on unsupported claims, plot summary alone or recycled hot takes.
How to send it
Use the Contact page and choose the editorial option. Include a working title, a short outline, relevant writing samples if available and any potential conflicts of interest. Please send a proposal rather than a completed article unless we have agreed otherwise. A submission is not a promise of publication.
A joke can be a way of seeing
Genuine Comedy Review looks beyond the laugh to the choices that make comedy work and the assumptions those choices bring into view.
